Tips For Increasing Affiliate Commissions

There are a number of ways to increase sales for your affiliate marketing program. You can look for more products that compliment the ones you are already selling, concentrate on driving more traffic, and improve the navigation on your website.

Many affiliate marketers are already doing these and are seeing an increase in sales, but can you earn even more in your affiliate program without focusing on traffic or even your consumer?

An affiliate marketer can improve their business by going to the source, your merchant. If you have a consistent pattern of turning prospects into buyers, and a strong following on your website, than why not use this to your advantage.

Here are some affiliate marketing tips for increasing your commissions and affiliate business.

Start by doing the number one thing most affiliate never even consider doing ?ask! Just like how you would ask for a raise or promotion in a job, you can ask your merchant for an increase in commissions; it?s not off limits.

Remember never feel like you owe your merchant something because there are hundreds of similar programs on the web. When you make a sale, not only are you earning but your merchant is as well.

Thus affiliates who perform above average are a merchant?s dream and usually a merchant is willing to increase commissions for affiliates who generate large sales. However, in order to properly negotiate consider these affiliate marketing tips.

1. Know the market. What are other affiliate merchants offering in similar niches? Start browsing sites like clickbank.com, cj.com and other third party affiliate sites to find out what you can expect in the market today.

You may also want to contact other merchants to find out how much he would be willing to offer a top performer. Even if you are not looking to switch programs or add a new one, it?s good to know what a fair and competitive commission rates are.

2. Ensure your value is known. It is a waste of time to ask for a commission increase without solid evidence. Your merchant needs to know you deserve it. You need him to know you are an asset to his business.

If the merchant has a forum, give those in the program your advice and help. Be sure to keep track of your sales. How many are you producing a month, and how far apart are they.

Have a chart that you can send your affiliate merchant. Also be sure to mention your sites ranking as well as the number of backlinks you have for each search engine; how many subscribers you have for your ezine, and the number of unique visitors you recieve per day. The more facts and figures you have, the easier it is to prove to your merchant that you are an asset and deserve a commission increase.

If you are putting in all the efforts to build a successful affiliate marketing business and are seeing an increased rate of profits then consider asking your merchant for an increase in commissions. Use the affiliate marketing tips above to help you make the negotiation process easier.

How To Spice Up Your Affiliate Internet Marketing Site

July 18, 2009 by jcasmer · 10 Comments

jeff-150 Most affiliate internet marketing programs provide marketing and advertising material to their members. Some even provide a pre-built website.

This of course is very convenient for the affiliate and allows them to get started right away by driving traffic to their website. However, often an unforeseen dilemma results because of this convenience.

All the affiliate sites begin to look like clones. The marketing material loses its punch and appeal, making it increasingly difficult for the affiliate to get the prospect to take action.

Therefore even as an affiliate you have to take a personal creative approach to your business. You cannot rely too heavily on supplies from your merchant. However, you don’t have to be a marketing maverick to stand apart for your affiliate competitors here are some ways to do this.

1. Add pictures. Images are an exceptionally easy way to make your site stand out. They not only add color but interest. The picture can directly relate to your niche or it can be thought provoking, but using images sparsely throughout your site and content is a good way to spice up your affiliate internet marketing.

2. Add quick content. Not all your affiliate internet marketing content has to be a thousand words long, sometimes just a quick 300 word article can both get search engines and prospects to notice. You can write a quick how to article, or an update of an already existing piece of content. Content can also be in the form of a quick video. Create a 1-3min long video for entertainment and educational value and upload it.

3. Add widgets. Widgets are both useful and fun ways to spice up your affiliate internet marketing. If you belong to social network sites you can find widgets that will automatically post your participations and updates on your website or blog. Depending on the affiliate program you are with you can even find widgets that show product and top products, service updates, and even reviews.

4. Add testimonials. The company often has their own reviews that they use for their site but you can get your own for your affiliate internet marketing site. Two ways to do this is by asking people in forums and social sites if they used the products and services, and if they wouldn’t mind leaving a review for your site. Even without an incentive people will reply. But you can encourage them by giving away something for free like an ebook.

5. Add an ezine. Set up an autoresponder and produce a weekly or monthly ezine with tips and updates. Through your ezine you can answer questions, ask for testimonials, set up polls, and provide information. This is one of the best ways to spice up your affiliate internet marketing.

6. Use the newest textlinks and banners. Within the marketing material provided by your merchant look for the freshest newest ones. If the same material is still in use for more than 3 years ask your merchant when he plans to create new ones.

7. Change your textlinks and banners every 3 months. The average life span of any online marketing material is 3 months some experts argue 1 month but 3 months is good time frame to stick to. Every three months change your banners and textlinks. Seasons and seasonal holidays a good thing to keep in mind when placing banners. Don’t use a summery banner if Christmas in is in the air.

Spicing up your affiliate internet marketing so it stands apart is not difficult. You may have to get a little creative but most of the tips are easy to put into practice.

July 8, 2009 by jcasmer · 8 Comments

A mentor is a teacher. They are someone who has both experience and knowledge to allow them to help others achieve their goals.

Lessons and exercises are used to help the mentee develop the required skills to move onto the next phase of fulfillment and success.

Mentors play a very important role in the achievement of success. They help people to take that next step with more ease than they would have experienced should they have attempted it on their own.

Mistakes are fine teachers, but having someone help you avoid these mistakes is better. It conserves your time, energy, and financial resources.

Thus for the sake of reducing stress, mentors are very helpful. But one can?t define a mentor as simply a stress reducer. They are also motivators.

To learn the right way to do something is fine but to actually have the will to do it is completely different. Often, we need a surge of enthusiasm to help us on our way.

A mentor is someone who is good at inspiring. Like any good teacher, a mentor can rally excitement around learning and applying what has been learned. They don?t do the work for you nor do they do all the thinking, but they are there to help increase your skill and knowledge so what you do has a higher level of success, and may even become more enjoyable.

Mentors generally work with specifics. They have knowledge and experience about a specific realm which allows them to answer questions, address concerns, and develop doable steps. It is the facts that mentors are able to create specific steps and help you fine tune your goal that makes them so instrumental to a number of people?s goals.

Many people who have used a mentor, whether it be for business, careers or personal goals have stated that their mentor helped them to focus and stay interested. Mentors are good at helping you see the long term benefits of short term goals.

But besides being able to help someone identify specific steps to reach a goal, and being able to being able to help someone develop effective strategies and skills for reaching goals, a mentor is also a friend.

Over 50% of people consider their mentor as their friend. When you work closely with someone for a common goal you can?t help feeling bonded. Mentees find their mentors to be a motivator, confidant, advisor, councilor, and a sounding board. Developing a friendship with a mentor helps the process but it is also a nice feeling to know that someone is genuinely in your corner.

There are mentors in virtually every industry and field. They are there to help guide you through the process of obtaining your goal and success.

Should You Get Assistance From An Internet Marketing Mentor?

June 25, 2009 by jcasmer · 4 Comments

jeff-1503 A mentor is someone who teaches and councils people to help them achieve a certain goal. There are mentors for virtually every occupation but it wasn’t until recently that someone could hire an internet marketing mentor.

An internet marketing mentor is usually a well experienced individual who teaches others how to succeed in their business. They are often hired when an internet marketer needs help with a specific task or goal.

For example, a business owner who wants to create a targeted opt in email mailing list can seek a mentor’s advice. The internet marketing mentor would give them step-by-step instructions on how to create their campaign so they maximize response rates.

In this case a client would learn how to write headlines and subject lines to entice his list to open the emails and how to offer products in a manner that avoids hard selling but still draws interest and urgency in purchasing the product.

It doesn’t just stop at email marketing; virtually all elements of online business can be assisted by an internet marketing mentor. From creating offsite brand awareness to website creation a mentor can provide quality advice so you make more money.

Possibly one of the greatest benefits in hiring an internet marketing mentor is the time and costs saved on your business. Beginners and intermediate marketers can often make mistakes that end up costing them and can put their business in jeopardy. If you can avoid doing something twice wouldn’t you?

An internet marketing mentor can help do things right the first time saving you a lot of stress. For a business owner this is invaluable. Not only are you saving yourself a lot of resources but you increase your profits.

To be able to increase profits while saving yourself time and money is what most people are looking for, especially during economic uncertainty where ever hour and dollar counts. Since they are equipped with the knowledge to help you understand the changes in your target market and how to respond to these changes an internet marketing mentor can help to maintain your profit margin even during a recession.

Knowledge is the gold standard with mentors. An internet marketing mentor like any mentor is a teacher. They have to have both expertise and experience to be really helpful.

You do not want to work with just anyone who claims to be a mentor. Since the surge of online business more people are claiming to mentors and marketing advisors. A number of these people however have little experience in working online and owning an internet business.

Always ask question and find out how long they have been internet marketers and what their success was. Also ask what niche their businesses cater to.

Specialization can be more beneficial when it comes to working with a mentor. Since they can teach you how to cater to that audience it could be better to work with a mentor who also has experience in that field if you are planning to run a self help business.

An internet marketing mentor is someone who can take you by then hand, teach and council to help you reach your goals they are motivating as well educating. Working with one can be mean great success for you business. Just be sure to do your research and be willing to be taught.

Should Certification Be Required To Be A Business Coach

May 23, 2009 by jcasmer · 1 Comment

Business Coach

Business Coach

In most industries, to succeed formal training is required, and individuals who want to quickly get ahead are offered certification programs. Business coaching is no different.

There are over 200 websites offering business coaching certification, but is it really worth spending the hundreds to thousands of dollars asked by these schools to become a business coach?

If you asked this question two or three years ago you?d get a resounding no from a crowd of successful coaches. Some of the most successful coaches have never taken a business coaching certification program. Yet they still make hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, because most of their clients do not ask for credentials.

What about today, can you set up a successful coaching program without certification?

Yes. However unlike years ago when the subject of credentials was very rarely brought up, today more prospects are researching and becoming consumer savvy.

Still, consumers still don?t ask as often as perhaps they should. Because in all honesty, when a client is willing to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars asked by coaches they?re more concerned about success rate then they are credentials.

Business coaching certification teaches you tools and techniques to help you become a coach. What they can?t guarantee is success. You may have the knowledge, but you may not be able to draw in clients and it?s not certain that you have innate skills to be an effective coach.

Consumers who are really interested in being coached are looking for more than credentials. They want someone with extensive business experience and a proven track record.

They want someone who meshes well with their learning style and personality. This is a working relationship after all and clients want to work cooperatively with their coach.

Having business coaching certification is good. You definitely have proof that you?ve been trained to help people and it is appeasing for the weary client to know that you are educated in the manner of providing effective business advice. It is less stressing to answer the question, ?can I see your credentials?? when you actually have credentials.

However, don?t be fooled into thinking your business will take off simply because you can prove your credentials. So far there has been little direct correlation between having a business coaching certification and being a successful business coach.

Many coaches today are void of certification and yet they have more clients than those that do. One could say that those with a business coach certification rely too heavily on it.

They assume consumers will be impressed by the fact they took some classes and will sign up for their service. Thus, they may not network or market their business enough.

Investing in an education is ultimately a good idea. You will at least have credentials that prove you are a business coach. However, as we know with any educational investment what you get in return is not always monetary. It is helpful to have business coaching certification but it won’t be the driving factor behind your success.
