Ways Article Marketing Has Altered Niche Marketing Research Online

February 27, 2009 by cynthia · 5 Comments

Article marketing has become an extremely effective and popular way to promote online. Prior to this overnight online sensation articles were mainly used for promoting products and services offline through newsletters via mail and the handing out of leaflets.

Later article marketing then was adopted by companies as a way to promote their products in newspapers and magazines.

Now article marketing is widely used over the internet by niche marketers to also sell products, to increase the site rank in search engines and to lend credibility to the site. Not only does article marketing promote products but it also promotes the niche marketing site itself.  The rank of the site in search engines like Google and Yahoo will increase with the use of article marketing.

Article marketing is one of the reasons why the internet has become such a treasure throve of information. Site developers, niche marketers and owners need to submit fresh material regularly in order to promote their sites thereby increasing their page views from site visitors as well as improving their site rank. When a website appears on the first page of a search engine result, it is guaranteed more views and of course the support of online advertisers.

However, due to the wide use of articles to improve site rankings, in many cases the quality of the articles has been reduced.   Take a moment to see the way some articles are written when you click the sites in the search engine results. You may find some have the exact same content as the other. Some may appear to be just a variation of another you have just read. Many will have typing or spelling errors and are also not well-written. Some will have structure problems, cohesion problems and of course grammar mistakes due to them having been written by people whose English is not their first language.

You may also come across articles online that do not have a byline resulting in the articles having no credibility and reliability. Previously medical topics were written by doctors, however now most of them will only be written by individuals who also do their research over the internet.

Due to the fact that article marketing is a highly effective way to promote a website and to increase the rank, articles are being written solely for that purpose i.e. what they are doing is for their own benefit. Many are not being written for the purpose of providing accurate information to readers hence the reason why some websites will also feature information that is unreliable.

It is therefore very important that before you choose websites for your niche marketing research you check them out carefully.  You can usually rely on sites that are being maintained by the government to have pretty reliable content as well as international organizations like those of the United Nations. Great sources of information are medical sites that are maintained by universities and hospitals. Sites being run by non-profit organization will most likely also have reliable content.

In summary, check your sources before you do your niche marketing research online. Article marketing has definitely changed the way we do research on the internet. It might have made researching easier but it has made discriminating harder.

6 Forum Marketing Tips To Promote Your Niche Affiliate Business

A free and effective way that you can promote your niche affiliate business is through forum marketing.

Forum marketing is a great way to get your voice heard and to get your niche affiliate business noticed. Here are a few tips to guide you on your way to forum marketing.

1.         Post in forums that you are actually interested in. The degree of your understanding and interest in a topic in a forum will shine through your post. If people see that you are interested in the forum topic, then you may get more attention than people just reading your forum post.

2.         Join and post in a forum whose topics are related to your niche affiliate business. Making off-topic posts in a forum concentrated with users who have a single interest and aim can be distracting not to mention grounds for you being banned from a forum.

3.         Ensure you use correct spelling when making forum posts.   Text or SMS shortcuts can make posts almost unreadable and you can annoy a lot of people to the point that they may not even bother to try and read your posts. Make an effort to write well on the forums.

4.         Apart from sharing your expertise and knowledge, extend help to other forum members when they need it.

5.         Use your forum signature effectively – the shorter the signature the better. The human memory can only memorize as short as five words so keep in mind that you must never exceed that number of words. Include in your signature vital information regarding your niche affiliate business.

6.         Your signature has to be catchy enticing readers to click through to your site. A concise signature can make a huge difference on the exposure of your niche marketing business.

Blogging and Niche Marketing

I want to talk about niche marketing and blogging to build your business.

One thing I have seen recently is an attempt by internet marketers to push the idea of starting a blog and quickly filling it up with plr content in a blog. The idea being that you could launch your blog with 10-15 articles and that should do it.

Then they say start another blog and repeat the process. Your goal is to get many blogs going and then add plr content on a consistent basis to keep it lively.

This is a bad idea if you are going into niche marketing and want to use your blog to do it with. For the most part plr content is a bad idea on a blog unless you alter it in several ways.

1. Change the primary keyword

2. Write a unique intro and closing paragraph

3. Add a YouTube video

4. Include a picture or graphic

5. Link to another site or blog.

At least when you do this you are attempting to make it original and the search engines will recognize this.

My point is if you start a niche marketing internet business and blogging is going to be your main form of marketing view it long term and plan on writing or hiring someone to write original content most of the time.

5 Steps To Full Time With A Niche Business in 1 Year

Here are the five steps to achieving niche marketing success!

1. Find a market where money is already being spent! Even better is find a market where a lot of money is being spent everyday. These have been referred to as white hot markets because the customers spending money in them have such a strong feeling about why they are doing it.

2. Find a product that fills a need or solves a problem. For example, if you write a report and sell it on how to live with Fibromyalgia you will have a very targeted market of people who feel very strongly about learning how to do this. The same thing is true with golf. These people will spend a fortune if they think it will improve their game by 1 stroke per round.

3. Create a sales funnel that allows you come back to your list and to your customers over and over in the future. Why make $20 on one sale when you can earn hundreds, or even thousands of dollars per customer if you do it right.

So to do this you need a list and an autoresponder to store names and email addresses in. You also need a landing page to promote, and a sign up form on every web page you build and blog post you make.

Here is more on creating a sales funnel that works on all levels.

- Promote easy recall. You can get more people to transact with you if you can strengthen your online presence. This can happen by using a very aggressive marketing plan when promoting your products and your website online.

- Establish your expertise. As you might already know, people online will only transact with you if they are assured that you are very good on what you do. Show these people what you’ve got by sharing a slice of your expertise through ezine publishing, article marketing, and blogging.

- Bank on your website. Most people online will gauge your credibility and your ability to provide a great product based on the appearance and content of your website. So, have your website professionally designed and ensure that it contains relevant information that your readers will find useful in their lives. Use list building techniques.

Most of your online visitors will not make a purchase the first time they access your website. So as not to lose their business, you must learn how to obtain their email addresses or other contact information so can make product promotion a lot easier for you.

- Get online users to buy your products. Strive to qualify your target market on the first level of your funnel by convincing them to buy your low end products. To make this a lot easier for you, I suggest that you offer huge discounts and throw in amazing freebies.

- Make your customers feel valued. If you want to move your customers from one level of your funnel to the next, you must take good care of them. Offer them high quality products and be very responsive to their needs and demands.

- Do the process all over again. To ensure steady a stream of income do the step-by-step process again starting from the first step that I have given you.

4. Spend your time on what makes you money. The majority of that should be spent promoting your business. If you are doing this part time then your time is your most valuable asset at this point. You can not afford to waste it surfing the internet and not moving your business forward.

Get a daily to do list and do not quit at night until you have marked everything off of it. The list should be made of things that are getting your business out in the marketplace. Here are 5 ways to do that everyday.

- Start and manage a Google Adwords campaign

- Article Marketing

- Blogging and Social Bookmarking

- Forum Marketing

- Social Media such as video, audio, social networking

5. Become hyper active about your business. Become an internet marketing spy. Copy successful people and you can repeat their success. Get busy in a big way.

Write and submit 10 articles per day. Make 3-5 new blog posts. Social bookmark too twice as many directories as you feel like doing. Making money online comes down to traffic and converting that either into an email subscriber or customer in some way.

You have to think big in terms of getting traffic to your website and blog. Remember, even a poorly designed website will make sales if it gets enough visitors.

We are talking about building a niche business online and developing a full time income in 1 year from today and this takes hard work and consistent effort everyday!
